Recul

Last March, I won a songwriting competition in St-Boniface called Musiklips, run by CKSB in partnership with Radio-Canada in the West. The prize was a studio recording of my submitted song as well as a video. My good friend Benoit Morier produced the track and I came up with the donkey concept for the video. The video was shot in Winnipeg in October 2008 and stars a very, very cute and friendly donkey named Maggie. Enjoy!

I wish I knew what they lyrics were. Is there anyway you could post them so I can feed it into google translator?

Yes, I'd have to agree with Carlos. I prefer it when we post things that we've made/or really contributed to. I'm even liking the self-promotion stuff...way more than random youtube videos anyways...

ps. cd release(which features Andrina Turenne on back up vocals) for the minglers tonight at the park theatre...be there!

Sounds and looks tres fabulous AT, love the donkey!! I'm in agreement with Dave though, can we poor anglais have a brief synopsis of what you are singing about?

Excellent. Just curious, did you need a "donkey permit" to walk around?

anyone up for a "nice ass" joke? anyone?! *sigh* ahem, my apologies. butt seriously folks, the bottom line is that if it wasn't me someone would eventually crack an ass joke. put a donkey in a video and you're just assking for it! ;) *groan* please forgive my juvenile demeanor; all in good fun!

on savait qu'on allait s'aimer

Quand j'ai besoin de recul
je mets mes idées dans une capsule
et c'est ton amour
que je savoure
et c'est la musique
qui me revendique
et c'est la nature
qui me rassure

hey, hey, hey...

p.s. i wonder what the online translator will think of this.

There is a giant tree
to balance its branches
and lying on the shore of the Red

That's where I'm going to roost
To hear the water flowing
And I forget that the city move

When I need to drop
I put my ideas in a capsule
and this is the kind that reassures me

I have a collection of vinyl
all titles queuing
I spent hours
in my earphones

A huge territory
comprehensive directory
And I find my bohneur

When I need to drop
I put my thoughts in a capsule
and which is music to me claiming

oh ...

He arrived in a boat, the only scenario ...
in rain
he came to fetch me

on the beach of the peninsula
under the stars and the moon
we knew we would love

When I need to drop
I put my thoughts in a capsule
it's your love and
I enjoy
It's the music and
I claim
and the nature
I reassured

hey, hey, hey ...

Hah! I posted a translation at 10:20, and someone did one at 10:19. Syncronicity! (I removed my translation, it was inferior)

Very interesting.
Now I edited the translator a little to reflect the actual lyrics.
It wasn't very far off though.
I'm impressed.

To hear the water flowing
And I forget that the city move

When I need to take a step back
I put my ideas in a capsule
and nature reassures me

word verif: inculp.

(comme "inculpable" en français-- i.e. free of guilt or blame)

this is a lovely song, and the video too, which made me miss Wpg.

also, Chic Gamine ROCKED Montreal-town last night to a full and appreciative house at La Tulipe.
