progress report....

My boy keeps changing the colours, and forcing new direction
ie.: water, bushes.
I hid my paints, only for him to seek out his own crayola set.

what...

...makes you go on
and
not on
target not
on
track not
on anything other
than
toxins and things like
that

that
make you
make
things make
less sense non
sensical and
not going not
going on
going
gone.

philosophy makes my head ache

whirling dervish thoughts
spin a funnel
of impressions, sights, tastes, sounds,
in motion ineffable
distill it
to the fine spirit of words
left behind
the most potent
Aqua Vita
unleash it
I'm paralyzed
caught in my waking dream
splash some water on my
face the madness of
unable unknowable unbearable
methodology measures our own perceptions
perfectly

Warning the following contains mature subject matter
and may not be suitable for all viewers.

Robert is running with the horses again
long even strides
George has physically molested the rabits
into something dead

Magnus has changed his name this season:
Paul the preachers son.
Harry is growing facial hair at last
it is about time.

the world hasn't been saved
by Superman in awhile.

The Devil and Daniel Johnston

everyone go see this movie,
and buy his tape!

A date

once upon a time I had a dream, and in the dream
i fell a sleep... ...
and here is what rough beast I can pull
from memory.

under unknown skies
clouds unfold like hands
whose answered prayers may rest
in tired relief of prolonged
suffer-ring.

While pairs of coupled eyes watch
the fiery embers role towards the starfilled sky
entreated with the moon for a time
in the wild... ...

as parting sweet lips linger
with the taste of red red wine, the breeze whispers
the hearths flickers, enough to say
stay awhile.

long awaited providence
late, but most welcome

Petition to Support the Arts

Petition to Support the ArtsThe Harper government's giveaway of $500 per child to support sportsactivities is glaringly unfair. Why sports and not the arts? Are those who spend a small fortune on giving their children music lessons, visual art, youth writing programs, dance, film & video-production (etc.), less worthyof support than hockey, soccer or other sports parents? Children will benefit throughout their whole lives, as will the various arts organizations, by investing in the arts. From the note I received:"... arts organizations, by the way, do not pay salaries measured in millions of dollars as do the sports teams."Please sign this petition at

Note: Don't forget to add your postal code in the required address field (as I did!).

Jim Baillie Gallery

These final three painting round out my collection - they hang along one wall in our living room. My dad and mom both have more of his works, so I'll try and take some more shots of some of his other stuff and post those at a later date.

More Jim Baillie

These two tigers guard our living room, and the two children watch over the stairwell.

The Art of Jim Baillie

These are some paintings done by a good friend of my dad's, Mr. Jim Baillie. He's a Winnipeg artist. Most of this work was done in the late 70s, early 80s, though I believe he still continues to paint. All of these paintings are hanging in various rooms in my home, and we enjoy them thoroughly! The paintings shown in this blog entry occupy our master bedroom, and the last here is a detail of his 'signature' from one.

Truly Strange...Strangely Beautiful?

Hello ALfA

ALfAnians,

The illustrious Macro, in his infinite wisdom, has invited me, The Disclaimer, to join your happy little family. I have accepted. As a token of goodwill and friendship I am posting a graphic gift for you. It is built as a desktop picture in honour of the Edmonton Oilers ascension to the Stanley Cup Finals (with a bit of satire thrown in for good measure). Blog on!
