Drawing Rome From Memory

Wow, an amazing video of an autistic British artist drawing central Rome from memory after a 45-minute helicopter ride: click here.

Pshh, that guy has nothing on Macri.

I've seen him draw that upside down and with his left foot, and he never even got a helicopter ride.

And then he painted over it with red and blue paint and then said it was likely done and maybe up for sale.

It makes you wonder what the human brain is really capable of.

Are you kidding? I couldn't "draw-from-memory" my way out of a wet paper bag! Luckily artists are not locked into competition. I see this, as Lorne mentions, a great indicator of what the human mind may be capable of. Inspiring.

uh, no... i didn't mention anything, if that matters.

but this video is pretty wild. reminds me of a TV movie of the week i once saw about these parents who realized their child was "idiot savant" after waking up in the middle of the night and hearing him play, note for note, the music they had heard on TV earlier in the night.

don't we use, like, 9% of our brain or something? less? so all that stuff's in there, we just don't know how to get it out and use it.

Oh yea, it was blue mask who "mentioned" it.

So if we use less than 10% of our brains does that mean the person who came up with that stat has a 90% chance of being wrong?

=)

Too funny Macro.

Yeah, this guy is something else, eh? Any artist who tries to make any piece of art that is representational is working from memory. The moment between looking at a photo or a stillife(the subject) and putting it down on a surface is memory work. This guy takes that to an entirely new level. Wowsers.

I wonder what he's listening to on his headphones. Classical or Hip-Hop? Country or Reggae? News or Sports?

Incredible find Skybird.

I`m flattered that I could be confused with Wolfboy by text alone.
