The Other Manitoba
There's an interesting article in the New York Times today about Mennonites in Bolivia. What really caught my eye was the name of their town: Manitoba. There's an Alberta, too.
Not really art-related, but I thought others here might enjoy reading such incongruities as: "With no television or Internet access in Manitoba, news of developments in the capital often reaches the farmers through word of mouth. Sometimes they stop to chat at the general store operated by Abraham Martens, where buggies line up outside on a dirt parking lot."

there's a winnipeg in the united states, did you know that? :p
last year i used mapquest and got this by mistake because i didn't add the province or country to the search.
Winnipeg, MO, Laclede County, US
tonight at the times, i told jaxon about this post while in the basement between sets. he was very excited about it.
I keep coming very close to actually running into you! I was at Times last night, and talked to Jaxon about this post too!
oh yeah! hilarious! i actually saw you (recognized the hat) and asked someone: is that sky, and they said yep. but it was so crowded and madhouse i never got the chance to say hi.
and i hear you live w/ tasha.
winnipeg is so wonderfully small.
Yeah, Tash told me about meeting you and talking about the fact that we know each other, but don't really know each other! My life is often like that...
p.s. on that note, julie (penner) and julie (singh) say hello.
Oh? There's a couple people I haven't talked to in some time. Say hi back, OK?
