Why should we take interest in the artist that claims he/she knows not where their inspiration comes from? If the creator shrugs it`s shoulders when asked, doesn`t that render the artist invalid?
I take great interest in the artist's response to their work. It is an insight into the creative process, and for me that process is far more interesting than the end result, the art that is created. In fact, many of my posts here (including this one) are direct responses to the posts and ensuing discussions in the comments made on this blog. It is an endless, linked chain of thought, creation, thought, creation, over and over throughout time. Perhaps the most unique and interesting thing about the human species, when you think about it.
It depends on how well you steal. We're all thieves in the end...I can't imagine how I'd be a painter without ever have stolen ideas and methods...for instance, the invention of painting...
Indeed this is a forum of responsiveness... Come one, come all.
A Love for Art was a collaborative blog for visual artists, musicians, writers, and social scientists. This blog has evolved into a new blog called BETA, go check it out!

in response to bluemask's comment, i'd say "every poet is a thief". (dylan thomas, maybe? he prob'ly just stole that, though.)
