Does not qualify (but I'm being a hardass).

Qualifies (but I'm open to different definitions, If you mean Blind contourism, by the strictest definition this may be outside the definition, but if you count work that is contemporary to our collective efforts, then yes it is contourism, maybe that's how we can seperate the two types of work, blind contourism for strict definition, and contourism for a broader one).

I agree.

That is a good way to distinguish between two things, but be careful, as where does one draw a line?

Or is there no-line?

Blind contourism and contourism as concepts allow us to hold that which is different (every piece) as the same (recognition of an order and relation), as such, it is a closure of openness.

We all fail at the limit.
