These are all Krahns that I found on the net. Meet Jakob, Terry, Lonnie, a memeber of the Krahn ethnic army of Congo, and John P, farmer.
Today I visited the King's Palace. Pretty gnarly place. That dude has an enormous collection of gold encrusted mansions and emeralds and rubies and diamonds and towers and a huge army of litte Thai dudes who all know mui thai. One temple here that I was forbidden to take pictures of was probably the most obscenely deccadent structure I have ever entered since Versaille when I was a small child. Every where is sparkling with jewels numberless and a hundred hippies and monks and tourists from denmark bowing and paying homage to an emerald bhuda sitting high up in a massive chamber on top of a pile of gold like fricking an enlightened scrooge Mcduck. I entered a reclining valium mystrical bhuda pose there and the guards with machine guns woke me up. There's a sign that says don't point your feet at the bhuda so I sort of walked in sideways like a crab. Next I got an audience with the King having announced myself to be a Godking from the West. I cracked open a bottle of Soju I had saved from Korea and we talked politics and women. He told me in my next fight to swing more elbows and I told him to crack down on the lady-boys. After he passed out on his emerald throne I stole his ring, french kissed the siamese princess and rode away back to my cubicle cockroach hotel room on an elephant.
Back on Kosan road in Bankok just got some new ink done to commemorate the fight. It says SAM SMOKE TIGER in thai.
The arena was like someone's back yard in the middle of the jungle. I had a pretty good posse of supporters. Among them the Champion of the Island my trainer Pu who fights every week and always wins. He fought after me, victory by knockout in the third round. Knee to the kidneys.
After they massaged me with fire oil and wrapped my hands I put on the gloves and they told me to shadow box in the dirt.
Then I entered the ring and performed the complicated dance ritual designed to banish evil spirits from the ring. A strange music is playing in the background kind of like a weird asian trumpet swooning over a droning feedback electric guitar.
My oponant Pansak was probably 15 pounds lighter and 6 inches shorter and about 35. Long time veteran. He was really ugly looking with a mole on his face with long six inch hairs growing out of it. Like a rat-monkey. That's the style here. If you have a mole on your face its auspicious and you let the hair there grow.
So then we start to fight. I had abstained from alchohol and smoke for 4 days. This day I had comsumed some spice and had eaten little. I was sort of in a trance. Not nervous at all.
Punches kicks exchanged. He starts targeting my lead knee. Soon I realized that truly I had no experience in receiving blows and even less knowledge of how to block them and it seemed like he was kicking me and punching me straight with ease. I just sort of let him do it. Meanwhile I was also landing some hard rights and kicks to the body.
First few rounds pass and Im feeling the pain and discombobulation. One fist he lands to the jaw makes me feel what it would be like to be knocked out. But still I keep absorbing them.
I land a good solid kick to the crotch.
3rd 4rth rounds I'm hurting especially on the left knee where he just keeps wacking me and wacking me.
I get frustrated and just grab him and body slam him.
Then I deliver a knee to the crotch.
I'm wearing pink shorts laced with silver and green with FIVE STARS on the front.
The whole time Im fricking laughing and smiling like a madman. And we love each other, always knocking gloves in salute and he understands that Im sorry for instinctually targeting his groin.
I body slam him again in the fourth round.
Meanwhile my posse is yelling out thingslike
"every blow makes you stronger"
"finish him"
"Dance your power animal"
Fifth and final round Im really really hurting but am starting to understand how to land really solid rights. Also a few good knees when we're up close grappling. It's all a dance.
Round ends the ref calls it a draw.
Too fricking good to be true.
Now Im here and sort of hobbling along down this crazy travellers strip in bancokc of internet cafes and tatoo parlers and elephants and beggers and pad thai vendors.
Fighting is addictive. Although my supporters did nothing but praise me and making me feel on top of the world, my coach scolded me severely. I could have fought a lot better.
I will fight again.
Wednesday is India. Im thinking of heading north into the desert and mountains.

Here I am in my completed form. Once again ready for burning. Throw me into the fire. Watch me crawl out of the abyss wearing a white cape and eating locusts and honey.
Tommorrow Im headed into the ring at nine oclock. I don't know who my opponant is but Im expecting a burly little thai man who fights every week. Knees kicks elbows punches and if you get locked up with the guy you're allowed to sort of wrestle him to the ground. I've learned the special dancing ritual.
Doesn't really matter which way I choose, I can never lose. Only love can break my heart. Perhaps a well placed knee might break my ribs though. For christsakes pray for me people.
Im bringing all my bags with me and the next morning if Im able it's back to Bankcock and then off to India. I beleive that Ive championed this place. Everyone here has witnessed my various unleashings:physical, histerical, mystrical, magical, musical, gymnastical, stylistical, artistical, grammatical, drunkenical. They will all come now and watch me burn! Ive done this before. The dance of death. I will never see these people again. Ritualized suicide. But remember folks that it's all for you. By the time I make it back home I will have burned through several layers of skin and passed through many a fiery gate. It's all for you! I will be your champion! Show me where to point my gun. Don't cry for me Winnipeg. Sad eyed people of the prairie. I hear you've got a new prime minister. Look at mother nature on the run in the nineteen seventees.
Meanwhile Im busy re-writing the future into my book of eternal foolishness. And beleive me, you all have starring roles.
Now a prayer to the divine consciousness to sharpen our intellect so that the mind can bow to the wisdom of the heart. Allow our thoughts and words and actions to be guided not by fear or ego but by the universal intelligent wisdom that resides in our hearts.
Here's the pit fighting bill. Ive been training for about a week. Flying knees and jumping elbow moves. The morning after Im off to India.
For some reason all the Thai's call me Sam.
A tired, tired road warrior,
Wow, last night I was riding my bike returning from Hapkido practice and I was riding through these woods when I passed by a massive spiderweb. I decided to stop to check it out. As I was examining the enormous spider I heard a kitten cying Help me! I looked under a bush and there was a kitten. And so I had no choice but to take it home. If she survives (im guessing its a girl) then I will call her Gomi. The korean word for spider.
