My Comic Book

The other day, over on the Great Melée, Dave suggested that ALfA should create it's own comic book. That reminded me of my quest to have my comic book (a 32 page full-colour exposé of the life of a couple of underachieving green critters of unknown species) posted on the web. I have finally discovered a site that will host this rather large file (6.8 MB), and invite anyone with a high-speed connection, and a taste for juvenile humour (you know who you are) to click on the image below. If you have a laptop you can even read the comic where it was intended to be read--on the john.

I downloaded it but adobe reader only seems to open the first page. What do I do?

My father wouldn't let me read comics; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was actually contraban material in my house.

:)

Nonetheless, I would sneak them, which wasn't sneaking as my parents actually knew I had them, yet my mother wouldn't let my dad scold me.

Ah gotta love moms.

Father's are great too though, so happy father's day to all the father's out there!

have you circulated this character before? seems to ring a bell.
I was also from a time when comic books were "destroying the best minds of our schoolage generation'
I brought my contraband to school in Hilroy notebooks.
Fantastic stories told with equally fantastic art. I still don`t see what they feared so much.
I mean, in comparison to Grand Theft Auto......

I remember trying to get my comic into Uptown years ago, but the guy who was editor said they'd just hired someone else who turned out to be the Tin Paradise guy. That was okay though, I'm a slow drawer and I can't always come up with quality material in a timely fashion (and I'm not the type to submit unfunny stuff week after week for what must be a fairly nominal paycheque.)

Anyways, since then the batchelors have been relegated to an annual Christmas card that I distribute to family and friends. You may have happened upon one via mutual freinds, but that's the only way to have seen these green dudes.

Dave, the file opened fine on my work PC--do you have the latest version of Acrobat?

HA HA! I lost out to that unfunny strip years ago myself.
They stood by it like it was the gospel. Must be a relative. (under new ownership now, curiously absent)
Maybe I recognize your `toon from the reject pile mine was in?

constructive critique... flat digital colour minus the fancy (aka: cheesy) air brushing techniques that seem to saturate most digitally coloured comics these days. you can do that or invest in some better markers so you don't get the look you're getting. is this dated 2001? maybe you're already thinking of doing the digital colour or new marker thing. just a suggestion. i don't want this to come across like i'm being a knowitall. ;) just friendly advice.

take care,... go
