Zappa2

I'm just texturing the background, then I'll be back to the black backdrop. I can't just leave a flat coat on all that canvas. (I'll fix his mullet too)

i agree to keep going-- the bottom really pops out, blends together nicely, sort of Klimt-ish, while the top does still look flat.

more dots! quadRUPLE THE DOTS!!!! yar!!!!

i just had an email exchange with a guy from Dryden who owns the first piece of art (or one of the first two, anyway) that Clarence Tillenius made in the hospital in the 30's after he'd lost his arm--art that Tillenius made, therefore, with his non-painting arm for the first time.

frustration is the natural outcome of hard work in a variety of professions, this chap said to me.

so keep going (he said).

Andy Warhol asked Lou Reed "How many songs did you write?"
Lou- "I've written zero, I'm lazy and I'm young"
Andy- "You won't be young forever, you should've written 15. It's WORK. The most important thing is WORK!"

p.s. The ALFA blog will survive the Facebook weather storm, trust me. I'm almost ready to bail.
"Oh hi, yeah, there's a reason I haven't spoken with you in 10 years....Thanks for reminding me!"

I don't see why they can't both work. I like them for different reasons. Alfa for pictures, facebook for long lost friends and family.

If you're sketchy about someone, don't accept invitation.
