When asked what his priorities were, Mayer said he was a 'heritage speculator'. I thought that was interesting, someone who attempts to predict what will be important for the future of art. Zeke suggested it was 'insider trading', is this not also trend analysis? Attempting to figure out what's important to the people who visit contemporary art galleries. Some motorcycle show came up in conversation, a ploy where the museum was trying to get lots of people in to see art, and the draw was motorcycles. Appealing to the unwashed masses(what a horrible term) isn't what Mr.Mayer is into.
A Love for Art was a collaborative blog for visual artists, musicians, writers, and social scientists. This blog has evolved into a new blog called BETA, go check it out!

I would also call it insider trading, but true art nonetheless always rises, I think.
