I like it!

Subject matter aside, I like this image....that sort of burnt out quality to it, the horizontal lines of the closet establishing the figure in the composition.

what is this from anyways?

And really, it's nice to see you back Irish.

It's from a series of photos I took in sequence for a short film.
It was edited by myself

The video (above)makes sense out of this for me. The photo by itself had me wanting to throw my hands up in surrender, to a sophomoric phallic gesture. Like pouring your heart out and the person on the other end of the phone just says "penis" and giggles. But seeing where it came from and where it was headed took the wind out of my unforgiving sails. The video idea is pretty innocent fun. I can respect that.

PS I'm not against nudity, I'm against sausages. Well not against, like how he's against them, more like, opposed to them. Or they are not a preferred metaphor.
ahem

I like this one on its own, meaning I think it can stand on its own as a piece of art.

I too was partially offended, experiencing it as an instant of egad, an almost 'we shouldn't have that on the blog!' moment.

But then I asked myself the perennial question: Who am I to judge, and what constitutes art anyways?

As avant garde, I'm not sure, I don't think so.

As a raw piece of meaning, yes, that's what I appreciate about it.

No pun intended on the raw.

Let me ask you this. Do you want more? Indeed there are many paths in art, which one shall we choose?

I wasn't offended, I just thought it was playful and clever, if not a little exhibitionist.

I think on the other hand, all play aside, it also exposes something very fragile and vulnerable.

the elements juxtaposed the way they are makes you look past the symbols you immediately connect to obscenity and together work to connect to humanity.
