Giant Squid

The animal—which measures roughly 25 feet (8 meters) long—was photographed 2,950 feet (900 meters) beneath the North Pacific Ocean. Japanese scientists attracted the squid toward cameras attached to a baited fishing line

Ahhh! That's fantastic. The illusive yet famous giant squid. It seems like only a few years ago when they recovered that whole body, which was notable since only partial remains had ever been found prior to that. And now...the hulk looming in the depths beyond our eyes, lurches forth as bulbs flash and crack revealing and recording it's dark secret existance. This is a likely progression that will lead to Cpt. Goldstars aliens and Sasquatches! Science fiction is coming real, and rapidly.
