Feeding the War Machine

Seeing the "Perpetual Machine" GIF last week reminded me of how fun it can be to animate stuff. I'll admit I had greater expectations for this goofy little project, when I started it, but it's the first one I've done in a while, so it didn't quite turn out as well as I'd hoped. Nonetheless, I hope you are mildly amused :P

i think they are the donkeys, yes. i like the mixing of the two, though. i mean, really, at the end of the day, how much difference is there between them? someone recently pointed out that, while the democrats are often viewed as more "liberal" in their policy, they're really quite similar to canada's conservative party.

stay the course stay the course stay the course we will not cut and run... uh, i mean, we've been discussing changes in policy since we first invaded three years ago, haven't we?

Paul Martin`s mantra of "My Canada" rung Rebublican tones to me.

While there is in fact little difference between the Democrats and the GOP when it comes to foriegn policy(neo-conservatism was actually originally an idea espoused by the Democrats--see Vietnam) the symbol for the Democrats is the Donkey, and the Elephant for the GOP.

Speaking of symbology, in the U.S. Red represents the Republicans (conservatives) while Blue represents the Democrats (liberals?) even though this colour scheme is opposite in the rest of the Western world (commies = reds, aristocracy = blue-bloods.) Go figure.

Also, in the U.S. blue ribbons are usually used for a first-place finish and red for second-place. In the U.K and Canada it is generally the opposite.
