I posted something by Kate Beaton before, but this comic was apparently in the National Post today (and would have been on the cover if not for the recent rash of celebrity deaths).
pretty funny that it's in the National Post, a newspaper that exists for the sole purpose of re-writing our history to suit their beliefs, of undermining scientific and academic rigor when it contradicts them, and of re-writing geo-politics into a cowboy movie.
I remember at one point I was buying both the post and the globe on saturdays and trying to pick which I liked better for arts and culture coverage I almost always preferred the post. The globe was always more stoic or starchy, like it didn't care about looking good, it's hard to describe without any specific examples of articles in my head. Maybe the post just looked nicer. More color back then? I think it was the late 90's, things may have changed by now.
the post was taken over in 2002 or so by the asper's, and since then it's been about the crappiest newspaper on earth, though pretty enough to look at.
the globe is stuffy, i agree, though it has a lot of pretty good writers.
A Love for Art was a collaborative blog for visual artists, musicians, writers, and social scientists. This blog has evolved into a new blog called BETA, go check it out!

P.S. You have to click on the comic to see the whole thing.

I have no love for the Post, either. But good for her for getting them to pick up her comic!

though their visual art critic, gary michael dault, should have been put out to pasture 25 years or so ago.
