Better Cornering

This image speaks to
compassion
of the human spirit. It has inspired me to write this poem:

BETTER CORNERING
by Jesse e.j. Quesnel

His folded hands
so small in prayer
his dark eyes
have no christmas cheer
your world is cold
my little compassionate friend
all around you
sunlight rings
dance in the winters snow
little squirrell
so small, so low
i fold my hands for you
and we all hope
upon this cold night
that our little friend
has plenty of nuts
between his cheeks
On a dime?
