Looks pretty good, I have always thought that your fire paintings were always a strong series. From a home-decor point of view, I would find it hard to believe that someone with baby blue walls and pale wood furniture would buy a black and orange painting(I know that's not the point.
Interesting thoughts...I think you'd be surprised what a person with blue walls will buy.
But yes, back to the point. All those mantle pieces in people's places with fake fireplaces lookout, cuz here I come, off the wall from above the sofa and into the hearth! Plae your order today.
It also makes me wonder what other parts of the home could be replaced with a painted version (sofas, windows, doors, clocks, tvs)
food for thought...
(and cara, you're on, let's talk, th enew baby needs some sleepers!)
James, I think that what you are descibing is trompe-l'oeil, only I guess you would put it on canvas instead of straight on the wall. I know that Mariko used to make things like calculators and remote controls out of ceramics.... might go well with a painted TV.
A Love for Art was a collaborative blog for visual artists, musicians, writers, and social scientists. This blog has evolved into a new blog called BETA, go check it out!

You should try and do this at your house.
I agree with denis, on all points and would like to add that I'd buy one. I really like those fires.
oh and I 'd also buy any paintings inspired by the works of Botticelli.

uh huh. Pancoe too.
and muralists from around the world, chalk artists, blah blah blah.
I just saw an artist who paints canvases into books.
Maybe you could replace the tv screen with canvas.
