Yeah, there's a couple of really nice bits in here, but there was a point where I felt kind've seasick. This video made me wonder a couple of things...1. What would justin's movies be like without his own music and likeness, ie. a video for someone else's music...like a smoky tigre video.
2. I can never make out the lyrcis, it might be neat to do like a bouncing ball version of a song that has the words on screen.
3. where were all these bits recorded? I'm guessing his basement, but where else...and when else.
1. No one's ever asked for one. I feel a lil' narcissitic sometimes, but hey, I'm literally just throwing out what I do in the basement out there. I try to keep it tongue in cheek. Like the fact that there was no applause at the end. I had begun work on a Smoky vid, the raw footage was kick ass, but I formatted the card before I transferred it by accident.I posted some of the surviving stills before.
2.That's a good idea, don't know how to do that yet. will look into
3.I usually make them in or around the time of a recent events. This was going to see the Brier Burton show/and playing at Academy last week. Little time capsules. I also steal unused Dylan footage (masks), found some old band footage ect.
The master versions are a lot clearer and less nauseating. I have to keep that in mind for the future. The compression really messes them up.
I appreciate the answer backs, I think you would make a great director of someone else's video. My favorite part is when the buildings start flowing into each other. And I think the nausea is caused by all the flashing screens and mixed upnessof it all, not the resoultion.
I have a patience problem lol! I guess it's reflects in my work. If I can't do it (art/music/video) in less than 2 sittings, I lose interest. So i cram as much as I can in the first draft of anything I do. I live in a perpetual "rough draft". But when I get too self concious about it, I think to a quote by Neil Young..."just put it out, and don't look back" I do heed the critiques, but I store them for the next endevour. So pull no punches with whatever I post! I'm listening!
you might try diving everything you do into blocks. Each part might take 2 sittings, but lets say there are ten parts. I think your work demands that you take the time.

heh. they're good, though. i like the randomness of them--the fact that all the images are sort of connected, but only sort of.
i personally really liked the sommersaults on the escaltor bit. i also liked the reversed image so you were playing guitar the "correct" way.
Wow, I didn't think anyone would notice the guitar,
You've just won a free trip to Montreal!....er
