I think the real difference between a blizz-o in Montreal and one in Winnipeg is the landscape. In Montreal it's like all these buildings which are all close together get even closer together with more snow, and the narrow roads get even narrower, very claustrophobic. In Winnipeg the blizzo-s just blow and blow, and some cases don't even feel like blizzards, but just have all that blowing snow, snow blindness. Total openess but closed from vision.
A Love for Art was a collaborative blog for visual artists, musicians, writers, and social scientists. This blog has evolved into a new blog called BETA, go check it out!

wow. gorgeous.
you guys in the east really got the snow dump, eh?
yeah-- Mtl is still digging out. most sidewalks are "single-lane-only", and the roads are chaotic w/ huge snowbanks and cars parked at all angles.
prob'ly the worst blizzard i've ever seen, which is saying a lot for a prairie boy...
