i always miss your shows, but maybe i can swing it this weekend...(small children can get in the way of a swinging nightlife).
:)

it goes with my current obsession of all things bird...for example i saw an owl yesterday, perched on some kind of electrical tower, it just swooped up there while i was driving down wilkes, i pulled over just to watch it, i've never seen one before (can you believe it).

it'd be great to see you before you go! :)

coooool about the owl! apparently owls represent the following "death and rebirth, releasing that which has outlived its benefit and usefulness in your life, starting over in a new life or releasing the ties that kept you bound to the old one."

What kind of owl? (if you could tell)

As I posted somewhile ago, my grandfather had a Great Gray Owl in a pen in his backyard for many years. He was a wildlife researcher and had found her as an orphaned chick, and brought her home and raised her. He used to exhibit her at schools all over the province, and was part of the process that had the Great Gray declared our provincial bird.

I love birds too. I got my nickname Skybird because I used to breed birds in high school. My mom let me take over an unused bedroom where I had anywhere between 20 and 40 birds at a time, mostly uncaged (mostly finches, but a few small parrots as well). The spice finch I had was my favorite - he had this song that went partly beyond the range of my hearing, as I could see him making the movements for vocalizing, but couldn't hear a thing!

thanks for explaining the symbolism of the owl, that is very appropriate in my life at this moment.

the owl was grey, but i'm not sure what kind, , perhaps it was a great gray?
I do remember that post about the great gray owl...your mom sounds lovely for allowing you to have a bedroom to breed birds.
what a great learning experience.

my daughter and i see finches out at my parents house (usually yellow).
