It was an awesome venue. We were playing the night it basically ended. The LC came in and forced the people to buy food while they were watching a band. The people just vanished in the following weeks, the owners sold it soon after. Archaic laws.
I have no idea what kind of licence they have at the BV - actually, I know very little about the types of licences that exist. But I guess Armand sells enough food legitimately that it doesn't come up?
I think below is considered a cabaret, in the bar area, so they have a licence for that, and thenif you sit up top, you need to order food with your booze. Most people do that anyway. veri: progies

Yeah, everyone knows that eating an entree is what most people want to do while rocking out!
Especially in this frugal city. In hindsight, it could have been marketed as "Plate of fries cover charge"
