Actually, now that I think about it, the van in that photo was itself a work of art. As it's body slowly rusted away, my grandfather actually riveted sheets of tin to it, and then painted it by hand with a brush! A true story!
Talk about "years gone by", I saw the new/blue meanies at Oak park high school! Maybe they were called "dead poets" back then? Honestly, me and my friends formed our ideas about what rock-music should be based on the developments of that band. One of my oldest memories of them (Band and/or friends) is watching them strole down the back alley to "seven day foods" for the best slurpees in town (Ryan with his british flag jean jacket, hehe). I of course, always kept unnoticed by maintaining a safe distance. You dudes should get some kind of record for bands/friends that don't break up.
Well, the Dead Poets was a different band, though it did slowly morph into the Meanies, and Ryan and Brad were both singers in the Poets. I actually had very fond memories of that band, and was sorry to see it end... but that is another story.
Uhh, kind of. 4B went through a lot of changes. We started out with Damon on drums and vocals, me on bass, and Mike Brown and Steve McLeod on guitars, and it was largely instrumental. Over time, Steve left the band, and we continued as a trio with more singing by Damon. Eventually Brad and Ryan joined the band as singers, and Damon was singing less as the older 4B tunes dropped out of the picture. When Mike left the band and was replaced by Jeff, that's when we decided to change the name, and the Dead Poets was born.
Hey, I was in (and out) of the band long before Brad. Remember when we used to jam in that hall at the Co-op (Shelmerdine). That was in Junior High, before we even knew Brad. We'd do a bunch of AC/DC covers and some "originals." At that point we were called "Maximum Overdrive." I used to sing some of your lyrics, as well as mine. How dare you say "Eventually Brad and Ryan joined the band as singers?" What about "Me and My Wife (We Do It Every Night)" and "Channel 6," my ode to the weather channel (or what was the weather channel before it became Channel 9). What about our big hit about Jason Shaw: "The Bog"? C'mon Sky, tell the whole story!

Wow, I guess I did gloss over a whole bunch of stuff there.... no offense intended! And I really was sorry to see the band end the way it did.
