Today I visited a Korean Buddhist temple with my friend 이 미 진. It is some 1500 years old and very beautiful. The site had some of my favorites icons, including dragons and tigers (oh my).

The dragon in Korean folk painting is known to chase away evil spirits. The green dragon of the east appeared often with the tiger of the West, showing the dragon ruling the skies and waters and the tiger roaming the lands and mountains. The scene (dragon and tiger), in itself, portrayed the great principles of heaven and earth and yin and yang.
