Wedding in Jonquiere

I can't remember if I showed this one before, but here it is. It's a photo collage of my grandparents getting married, the photo of them is from the 50's, and the church photo is from my visit there this year.

Back then in Quebec, if you married you didn't have to go to war, although my grandparents always said they married for love.

I think calling it a "cut n' paste" is a bit off the mark. It seems to trivialize this meaningful work (although I'm sure that's not Lorne's intention). By putting these parts of your history together you create a surrealistic world that suggests beauty (the quality of the picture, and church's ornate construction) and love (the couple) triuph over duty (the dull green monotony of a soldiers garb) and even death (the re-creation of the event in your mind and art).
