I'm sorry I couldn't resist sharing this with you. Let's file it under cultural differences. This is what I saw out front of a restaurant I was taken to. I didn't eat the face as far as I know, but I did try some feet.
And to give you an idea this is NOT the nastiest thing I've seen. I wont even tell you about the botion-tong (unless you ask me in private =P). There are some things I didnt think I'd like but actually do. I have come to occaisionally enjoy bondaggi (silk worm larva), and live squiggling octopus dipped in sesame oil and roasted sea salt is REALLY good stuff. Sounds scary, but it is tasty, nutritious and if eaten properly has a low risk of suctioning onto your esophogus and causing you to choke to death =P. I tried it first with Jesse Q. and I freaked out a bit when it attatched itself to the inside of my mouth. On the bright side, it is good for people new to chop-sticks, as it holds on to them, and it squirms around in the sauce so you dont have to swish =P
At least you have to be honest about what you are eating when you look it in the face!
I never tried bondaggi when I was there Dave, but when I came across a tub of it they were roasting in Soraksan park, I thought it was just about the most disgusting smell ever!
A Love for Art was a collaborative blog for visual artists, musicians, writers, and social scientists. This blog has evolved into a new blog called BETA, go check it out!

oh my!
I became vegetarian when I lived in Asia for reasons very similar to this (actually, it was a chicken toe in my stir-fry).

PS I have no desire to try the pig-face
