that eagle is a part of a limited edition print series I bought off of the aboriginal artist Elvis Antoine in market square three or four years ago entitled, Grandfather's gift.
walking to the times change the other night a native dude came up to me selling awsome paintings but I had no money. Hence the times change "bar tab".
How strange the aboriginal painting style, so distinct, deeply spiritual
well, the so-called Indian Group of Seven would be the pioneers of that style, i guess. the transfering of oral mythology to visual images.
the night where this pic was taken was very fun. we drank beers at smokytiger's place, played music, read each other's fortunes, contemplated our own deaths and tried to sort out the world's problems. spider cat had it right-- she just sat there in silence looking at the art.
A Love for Art was a collaborative blog for visual artists, musicians, writers, and social scientists. This blog has evolved into a new blog called BETA, go check it out!
