Anonymous Poem

I must have skimmed past this man's heartfire before,

searching for the taker of names,

but because only part of his memory was hidden,

I would never have noticed

Spam as art, now that's the way.

i've noticed a weirdly lyrical turn in spam these days-- lots of these weird kind of things. this one's particularly good, though.

Lyrical spam, I like it.

Yeah, someone should collect these and publish them!

Spam from what? Email? Maybe we should start our own spam, sending out nice poems and stuff?

That's the funny thing, I got the posted poem in an email, but there were no links or images included in the email. I'm not sure what they were trying to get?

And Ry, the only thing I can say is "Bad short style vaguely, reminds another".

Maybe it was a secret admirer what sent it skybird.

I wonder if they use some kind of algorithm to come up with this stuff--is it totally random, or is there some bizarre set of rules?

Certainly it would be entertaining if we could develop something of a fridge-magnet type slap-dashery of good words into a potential poem generator (say for example it spits out 20 words that must appear in the poem) and then unleash our happy creations on the spam bombarded masses. Most people would junk them without looking, but occassionally someone would see one and go, "damn, someone is spamming me some cool poetry!"

All we really need are some good adjectives and a few mailing lists to get started. Actually for random word generation I suggest collecting Scrabble words from the board at the end of a game, it can be a fruitful exercise.

Who needs random? I suggest anyone interested in this takes actual poetry posted here (with the author's permission, of course) and sends it, anonymously or not, to anyone they know and, hopefully, they believe wouldn't mind being the recipient of such a gift.

Want to send it anonymously? Try anonymousspeech.com, and there are others out there too (just google it).

No, those are not shameless plugs, just the reality of the internet!
