Montreal. They were made for the Olympics in the 80's. I recently read an interesting piece of fiction about Moshie's son who delivered papers in these high-end condos(that;s what they were turned into). The story talked about some really interesting deliveries/throws.
the irony of them being high-end condos now is that they were built as a sample of what could/should be mass-produced, affordable, high-quality housing.
each cube, i believe, was to be one housing unit, with space for a garden on your below-neighbour's rooftop.
