History is a violence
perpetrated on the living
It is all here
in joyful decline
and concatenating vigour
Moving forward
is nothing but moving
and moving backward is nothing
but moving
outward and inward is nothing
but all at once
you and the exuberant
aria

Meh.
:)
don't write your own reviews.

Wolfie, the historical concept I was talking about was "damnatio memoriae", one of the few things I remember enough to forget from my years in classics courses.
Geta, son of Septimius Severus was murdered by his jealous brother Caracalla who then hissues a "damnatio memoriae" ( wich meant all statues and representations of Geta had to be destroyed).
Surviving Portraits show the royal family with Geta's face just scratched out...no real effort was made to paint over the deletion.
anyways, this poem reminded me of that discussion and historical amnesia.
cool, cool. yeah.
damnatio memoriae.
this (imo) is really good, but kind of tapers off at the end.
you and the aria
exuberant.
p.s. what the hell is concatenating?
