Vancouver artist, Arabella Campbell named national winner of the ninth annual RBC Canadian Painting Competition
Calgary artist Chris Millar and Toronto artist Melanie Authier named honourable mentions with a total of $55,000 awarded among the winners.

Hey look, it's minimalism, yay. I like the honourable mentions more, and in fact am astounded Mel didn't win, did you see the painting she put in. It's very interesting.

I think it would have been hard for them to win with Paul Butler on the jury, conflict of interest with him being their dealer.
I really thought Mel had a chance too. She's a heck of a painter who's really evolving.
Too funny, I saw the picture of the winner and thought she's very beautiful, but where's the painting? Meanwhile, the painting is in the background with her standing in front, but since it is very minimalist I didn't notice. har har. strange choice.
Also, Waterman you might be concerned, she seems to have adopted your 'corner' technique.
One observation, it does kind of look like the back of a painting. Maybe there is something on the other side :/
