I could try and send you a lightened version to see if you like it, but ultimately it's about personal preference. In my photography class the prof. had very concrete rules about what a photo should look like. To be honest this irritated me a bit (and I think Andrew too), but it did train me to look more critically, the only difference being after seeing the 'faults' of an image I would decide whether or not I liked them. My mark suffered slightly in that class as a result.
