Isn't it Gauguin who decided to live in the wild, quit painting and moved to tahiti only to find it was more difficult than it sounds and gave up the idea and returned to "civilization"?
Ok. I took that as a challenge to find my own support, and failed. There is SOME artist like that (maybe not Tahiti). It seems Gauguin really dug Tahiti and lived there until he died. Does anyone know who it is was thinking of, or have something to offer more than a misplaced jab like "gossiper" cough, cough, James, cough.
A Love for Art was a collaborative blog for visual artists, musicians, writers, and social scientists. This blog has evolved into a new blog called BETA, go check it out!

Of course that was me silly.
I think Gaugain did go somewhere tropical, he had all those tropical paintings, but that's all I've heard.
Not a jab Macro, just more gossip.
Paul Gauguin is buried in a small cemetery at Atuona, Hiva Oa Island (Iles Marquises, the north part of French Polynesia).
I saw his grave myself.
Marcel Duchamp quit making art, but he move to Los Angeles... not quite the wild.
