In #2, that big frog hopped into the water when we walked by and just floated there unmoving for a couple of minutes. He's just resting on the moss right under the surface of the water. Later, he came to the shore for air, and I got the closeup in #3. In #4 that little frog was just hanging suspended in the water, and I'm on the shore bending down to shoot it at an angle, but I'm not in the water or behind glass.
My daughter managed to capture nine toads during our visit to Oak Hammock (actually eleven, but we re-released a couple who were doing poorly in captivity), and we now have a little pond ecosystem in our living room - in a section of the fish tank, that is. So far they are enjoying all the ladybugs we've been able to find in our garden. That, plus the crickets we bought at the pet store, are turning them into fat sedentary pets pretty quickly.
My cousin tried to smuggle her pet frog across the US border. She told my aunt about it when they were inches from security. She then proceeded to unearth a tupperware container underneath various stuffed animals from her carry on baggage. Poor Daisy had to be given up to the authorities (unscathed).

There is a frog in the last picture, just look carefully.
What's going on in that second one?
And are you underwater or through glass in the 4th?
I have raging guilt for how a treated frogs in my childhood. I don't think I've seen the last of them. I will pay.

that #4 is awesome.
i've always been kind to frogs. i'm hoping someday i get a big karma payoff.
or maybe the (non-material) richness of my life is payoff enough.
If you kiss one it will turn into a prince (or princess).
My little cousin kisses frogs all the time and they don't turn into anything.
These pictures are nice.
