That was weird.
You laughed as if to mock me.
And am I worthy of mocking?
Likely, but not with that laugh.
But there has been this built up frustration as of late between us, and it is so many things, but that is why you are one of my closest friends.
But the things now, are they different in quality?
We are deriders and scalpels of character, have we come to the derision and scalping of each other?
I'm fine with that.

You don't sound "fine with that".
maybe you two just need to hug.
Hugs for everyone!

Friends and relationships are a lot of hard work, and it's always soooooooo worth it.
i agree with knick
Commence the monologue.
In my experience, all that distinguishes a BFF from a BF is gratitude.
Gratitude for the years of company and support, and gratitude for being completely accepted, faults and all, by at least one other human being.
Tension, irritation, frustration, all that stuff's just passing weather. It definitely sucks, but BFFs have the ability to acknowledge it and let it ride for however long it needs. BFFs can do this because they know that they will eventually watch it go, just as it came, and in the end it will just be one here, and the other there, and forever as intact as it always was.
that's all
(for now)
love r.
