I think it's a scaling issue. I may leave a couple of bears, th ecub-like looking ones...but I don't about the rest. They just aren't sitting right. what do you think?
I'm not sure...I think the great thing about the bears and this painting are the details, the black bear lips, the hair lines, all show off the forground,..the bears in the background pale in comparison because they don't have anything that makes them stand out from each other or the background...sort of a mush of white and eyes.
What is this painting about? Maybe that will help you make a decision?

I'm on the verge of eliminating all the bears but the front one.

They look like bears behaving as seals - I like it!

I've felt that way about every painting I've ever made. Painting is always a compromise between imagination and possibility/reality.
