In comparison to some of your other abstracts like this(organicum series?) I find this one is more appealing...TO ME!
Let me try and describe this a little...the areas where the brown or black is the recessive(?) color, the painting drops back into little pockets, and allows my eyes to drop into these spaces, rising and falling between the ese areas and the plateaus of yellow and green. Very nicely balanced. I might even like it more turned as a landscape. How big is it? Did you start with an image and then destroy it?
Interesting color choices considering you live in a blizzard 24-7. I'd liek to see one that is in the colors of your environemtn..mostly whites?
The blacks and yellows really work well to unify this one David. I like the way you muted and shaped some of the darker tones with the lighter tones. The different design weight in the middle and at the bottom really pulls me in too. My favourite also. Hard edges but feels soft soft like a Rivera mural. ~m
There is a woodworker here that said he would build me a dark cedar frame for 50$.
I would like to mention, the painting looks different in person. The photo was a bit washed out so i turned the levels up, and I think I might have gone too far on the darks. Darnit, I might have to change the painting to be like the file(?). Also, there's silver in it, and you can't see that from the photo (and it was taken inside under a yellow bulb/tungsten). I wonder if I change a painting on photoshop, does that count as a new piece of art?

yeah, I'd say Esspresso or Black, the wider the better, and on the side of the piece, not overlapping any of the edges. IMO

maybe you could just varnish to effect or something, i don't know... probably looks good both ways
