America Through. . . . .

" As I say, it is perhaps easier to love America passionately, when you look at it through the wrong end of the telescope. . . than when you are right there. When you are actually in America, America hurts."

D.H Lawrence

Reading pretty much the best music book ever: 'Across the Great Divide: The Band and America". I've never understood America in quite this way or with quite the asthetic that you can from the music of these five dudes. THEY HAD THE POWER.

Cultural power in America is transient. More so now in the 70's, it's a true throne of flames.
