I think this Robert Frost, sounds like a cool dude. I think temper and passion are different forms of energy. It's kind of like the temper is the angry part, and passion is the love part. Of course these have a historically fuzzy, yet inseperable relationship.

I think I'm going to post this in my classroom.
But, never lose the passion, I hope he's not saying to be passionless, although I sometimes confuse losing my temper with passion.
