but what I want to know is what you've checked out at some of the kick ass montreal museums bucko.

This reminds me of my work from the late 90's(and isn't there another painter from label(RIP) who does this kind've stuff), humans with animal heads, although this piece kicks!

I haven't checked out much. No money to visit galleries these days. Soon, though.

I did, however, see the Geoffrey Farmer show at MACM (and got a tour from the curator)-- you can read all about that soon enough in Galleries West Mag. It might even be up on the website already, not sure...

p.s. the Geoffrey Farmer show was crazy awesome.

totally random assemblage--a whole gallery full of poems written to strangers on the bus, ghostly figures made out of cardboard, stacks of random stuff like pots, cups, paintbrushes, etc.

he cut a hole in the gallery floor and turned it into paper, cut a hole in the roof and hung streamers from it, made a giant sun out of post-it notes, and cut up an entire version of Reader's Digest's book The Last Two Million Years-- every single image from the 400 page book, and then he arranged them all, completely at random, on plinths that were everywhere from ankle height to almost bumping the cieling.

I'm convinced he's one of the most original artists working in Canada today.

Whew. How's that? :)
