I love this new foray into watercolour but honestly, I don't like the dark colours/watercolour combination.

I like it better in paint, your fires are hot in paint!

I should say why I don't like it I guess. I was just about to delete my comment.

I do like the white light part of this painting, it pops!

But, I think that the fires painted with oil or acrylic (I'm not sure which you use) catch the light better, and even though they have dark backgrounds, the thickness of the paint gives it dimension and texture.
The watercolour is really thin and flat, and I like that with colour but maybe just not with dark brown and black. it just doesn't have the same effect.

Maybe if I hadn't seen the fires that you've done before it I would like this, but your fires are hard to measure up to.

The darks do look a bit flat and muted as watercolours, but you did an excellent job making the picture.
