Mercury is poison, unless you're an enlightened being.

Who dares to include themselves into this category?

Kids, dont try this at home...

to back up a bit re comment on obama:

i think people are going to find he's waaaaaay more conservative than they've liked to believe, and everyone who has been saying he's the new martin luther king will be vastly disappointed.

i mean, he's been very clear on his position re iran for a long time, for one.

in terms of a change of the guard in US politics, maybe.

but you don't get elected president of the US by being a left-wing radical, so...

Some people have gone so far as to say that Harper's more liberal than Obama, just because Canadian politics are just more liberal in general.

Also, it all seems so idealistic, sensational, and heavily media influenced to me. I can't take it 100% seriously for some reason.

I have hope.

And change cannot be achieved with just one man, but definitely with one idea.

I wish I knew, I want to explode relative to the pathos of today, there's a werid uncomplicated inactivity to our social reason, we do not change b/c I and you do not change, that's all.

And why, if one starts to make the most radical of changes, i.e. less consumption, which is a feat among feats actually, somehow you're abhorrent.

I just don't get it.

Why can't I just get my food from the farmer 100km away without having to search out some relatively obscure store or a farmer's market held once a week?

Why do we have plastic stir sticks, or even wooden ones?

Why does everything have to come in individual packaging (surgical material excluded)?

I just don't get it.

And why do I take such long showers? Is it b/c I'm Canadian and I can?

Can I, or is the world coming to Canada?

Wow, these are fun and depressing thoughts.

Is decreasing your consumption really that abhorrent and radical?

I guess for some people it is.

Easier to think that it's right rather than to actually practice it. Humans aren't very good at self restraint.

Especially if it concerns things like mangoes and long showers.
