A Painting by John "Lew Dite" Parsons

John's place is like a museum. He's retired, a painter, and a skiffle musician. He went through aperiod of painting chairs in his paintings, to the point where people knew him as that 'chair' painter. Most of his work is in acrylic, the chair is based on one he saw in France. The trees are painted very heavily, the stripes appear as grooves. He has a wide range of interests. He collects art, music, and odd musical instruments.

yeah, his aspects of design echo that dude's work. it also makes me think of emily carr, somekind of coastal thing going on in a lot of his work.

His family has a background in textiles and patterns show up frequently in his work. Even some of his digital work, once printed, really looks like fabric.

I'll post some more soon.
