" The unicorn, as these books speak of him, embodies a moral truth, or allegorical, or analogical, but one remains true...But as for the literal truth that sustains the other three truths, we have yet to see what original experience gave birth to the letter. The literal object must be discussed , even if it's higher meaning remains good"

William in "The name of the Rose"

Those monks must have had some success in the sack, otherwise how could we be their decedents. Also, in some by-gone ages intellectualism was actually a sexy quality, not the black mark it is today. Think of the 60's when every young college girl wanted to do it with her professor. And who hasn't had a sexy thought or two about Jane Goodall? No, no, fear not fellow bloggers, our time is coming soon.

Monks got it on, just like any holy men/women do today.

That's why it's chastity, it ain't meant to be easy; all fail.

And intellectualism is not a black mark today, I don't think, but h-ck, what do I know, I've got so many black marks I can't tell which one is which!?

And me, not so much on Dr. Goodall, in fact, when I come to think of it, I've never really had any professorial turn ons.

And as to the 1960s, there are plenty of women/men now as well, even as a senior level doctoral student with teaching and supervisory responsibilities, lines can get blurred very easily.

And the time is now, we are the Champions.

A friend was chastizing me the other day for relying so heavily on an intellectual connection when it comes to the opposite sex.

Give me intellectualism (black mark or not) any day over well, just about anything.

THINKERS ARE HOT.

sometimes talking is superfluous, good point.

Anais Nin, one of my favourite writers ever said "only the united beat of sex and heart can create ecstacy." I tend to agree with her.
