I was at a show in Montreal once that allowed you to use your cellphone for each piece. You'd call the number of the photograph and it would give an audio component for that piece.
Yeah, it works pretty well. It helps that the show is part of the (((send+receive))) festival of sound. The crowd expects a sound element to the piece. We also have wireless packs so that you can walk around to your hearts content.

I tried the "hedphone" thing before. Everyone was too afraid to try them on, they thought it was a "piece". Did this work for you?
