Hi.

Is it just me or is there a very dramatic global event unfolding. Im not sure if you all are beleiving the hype or not but it would seem as if whole national economies are collapsing around the world like a house of cards. Am i wrong. What does this mean. Could I get some insight here.

I'd love to shed some insight on that, but I haven't been following.

My source tells me this will be a recession like any other. Media hype threatens its stability, but it will most likely come and go just like those that have come before.

Yeah, the media loves doom and gloom. It's lazy journalism. There is a plethora of pundits to call for a "what's your assessment?" interview.
I'm not denying the fact that this is serious and dangerous to a great number of the global population. I just smell the odor of Y2k in the air. That was months of fear mongering in the news. The positive stories were buried or banished then.
...That or we are all going to be living in violent tribes among the concrete ruins within 5 years! I don't know lol. I could be waaaay off.

I used to think, and possibly hope, for the end of the world, but my estimation these days is that we'll go on indefinitely as long as we don't go nuclear, and then, some of us will survive.

To me, this is all fear-mongering, and speaks to how ludicrous this whole system is anyway.

We're a joke, and I'd hate to invest in the perceived fears of a bunch of jokers.

i have no clue.

i can say, though, that the financiers, brokers, and bankers i've taught ESL to were predicting this quite a long time ago.

it all starts (sort of) with the collapse in US real estate/mortgage markets, which starts with greed.

as someone said to me recently, buddha is somewhere laughing at us all right now-- the world we live in built itself entirely around an illusion.

a famous misquote is that money is the root of all evil.

but it's actually the LOVE of money.

which, like the buddhists say, is really just desire.

and as captain america says, in "easy rider"... we blew it, man. we blew it.

maybe we should all collaboratively construct a quaint bomb shelter just in case.
