i hate pigons of montreal alsmost as much as i hate the "dameon" black squirls of TO but the cold/ cool colours are exceptional and so describitive of winter. big thumbs ups.
This pigeon is so beautiful! As Carlos was taking the picture, the cock pigeon was standing behind him and stomping arounding. I was afraid there might have been confrontation, as Carlos edged closer and closer, and the cock stamped harder and harder.
whew! There was tension in the air and thankfully no incident.

Did you know that "pigeon" and "dove" are used interchangeably.
And though a nuisance at times, they are scavengers and an important part of the old food chain.
But you're right about the squirrels (creepy).
That is deep (the hate/self hate comment) and struggle myself.
Maybe the squirrels are just depressed how does that lyric go "I wear black on the outside because black is how I feel on the inside"

No alfa males or pigeons were harmed in the making of this photograph.
