G. I. Gurdjieff

“There do exist enquiring minds, which long for the truth of the heart, seek it, strive to solve the problems set by life, try to penetrate to the essence of things and phenomena and to penetrate into themselves. If a man reasons and thinks soundly, no matter which path he follows in solving these problems, he must inevitably arrive back at himself, and begin with the solution of the problem of what he is himself and what his place is in the world around him.”

This is a great one. I wonder why this is true, are we really just egocentric at the core.

i like this quote, but i have problems with it.

i'm not sure what they are right now. something about how it presupposes certain things.

anyway, i'll think about it.

heh.

I don't think this means that we are egocentric at the core, I think it means that the only struggle is with yourself, and egocentrism is likely a large battle! Sadly I know.

Yep, a boyfriend i had when i was in grade 11 told me that the hardest thing you'll ever have to figure out is yourself.

I guess being self reflective is a hard skill to learn, cause you're always looking outside the window of your consciousness and so it's hard to be objective about what's behind it.

And plus, once you try to be objective, you inevitably have to trudge through so much brambly crap it just makes you want to just call it a day.

Postpone it til Sunday people.

Crap. That's today.
